Here are some very humbling and wise words from C.S. Lewis,
"If you want to find out how proud you are the easiest way is to ask your self, 'How much do I dislike it when other people snub me, or refuse to take notice of me , or shove their oar in, or patronise me, or show off?' The point is that each person's pride is in competition with everyone else's pride. It is because I wanted to be the big noise at the party and I am annoyed at someone else being the big noise."
It's true, everyone's pride is at war with everyone else's pride. But who am I to think that I am the greatest and the best or even think that I am even sort of great? I am nothing, I can't even do a simple thing like draw breath without God's help.
I found this quote to be very helpful in helping me to identify pride in my every day life.

Argh...I hate this topic. It's so darn convicting.
Thanks for sharing that quote, though. it's so true.
haha awesome quote! I'll need to see that quite a lot! How true,cj. we are all nothing. everything we have... is grace alone.
Praise God for the encouragement that you are!
Great quote!

Thank you for the quote.
I'm reading a book right now and the writer talks about someone who works to do away with all the pride in his life, which is extremely hard to do. He says that even if this person managed to in all ways succeed, he'd probably end up being proud about his humility.
Thanks for sharing. God bless!
What book is that Margaret? It sounds really good.
Hey CJ,
I really liked this quote:
"I am nothing, I can't even do a simple thing like draw breath without God's help."
That is so true, thanks for putting me in my place. God bless.
The book is called What's So Amazing About Grace? by Philip Yancey. It's really good so far. I'll let you know whatever else once I'm done. Hey, maybe I'll have to post that excerpt on my blog one of these days...
